the joy of Jacob
Poor precious Jacob. He's so sick here. In fact he was so sick, the longest Tom saw him was the last day. :o( Taking him for his VISA picture caused him great trauma.
Moses is sick here too. But Moses felt better much quicker.
Jacob has the sweetest face, the face of an angel. He reminds us of our firstborn, our daughter, her dark hair/complection.You can see the intelligence in Jacob. He's thinking. He's smart. He knows things! He turned 7 in March.
He wiggles around like little boys do! Mostly to avoid eye contact.
He even tries to avoid looking at Tom with the camera, with all his might.
He's very fearful of strangers. He knows what a stranger is. We wish he could talk to tell Tom what he knows. I wish I could just reach into this photo and hold him and tell him it's o.k. People will LOVE you not hurt you.
He's such a well behaved boy. So brave doing this new thing- visiting Dad. He's sitting so nice, trying to take the newness in. he doesn't cause any trouble. His personality is so sweet.
But it's hard for him to do these visits. You can see it in his eyes.
Hope is when Jacob touches Tom. When he reaches out and holds on, wanting to touch this man who is so in LOVE with him, this new man wanting desperately to be his Daddy.
He accepts a toy.
Still he's worried.
No eye contact please he begs.
His whole world is going to change in a few months. More than anything he's ever experienced. Please pray with us that he is not traumatized too much by all of it. We wish we knew how to explain it all to him so he could understand without fear.
No Jacob doesn't walk. He can stand holding on to something. (Moses can sit but cannot get into a sitting position on his own. Moses can not stand or walk.) Jacob has good coordination that should help him develop these skills.
We can't wait to hold him in our arms! We thank God for him! We feel beyond blessed!
