Bio-metric Finger prints for Hope- check!

On Saturday, a week after receiving our letter confirming our I800A supplement 3 was received; Hope's finger print appointment came. It was for May 15th!! UGH!! So Tom and Hope drove to the Immigration Office in St. Paul and decided that they would sit until they took the prints TODAY!

The nice thing was the Immigration office was fine with them coming in early. They did them super fast! Now they are DONE!! Woo-Hoo!

So I e-mailed Bulgaria, our USCIS worker and our wonderful International paperwork helper to let them know. :o)

Praise God!

More gobble-dee-goo

Our lawyer in Bulgaria e-mailed me this this morning-
"During this last week I have been in constant touch with the Embassy. Your I-800 is actually here but they don't know what to do-whether to let me go and do the provisional filing or waiting for the Supplement 3 and your daughter's fingerprints clearance to arrive too. They said that technically, they should let me do the provisional filing since she doesn't turn 18 before the end of June and is currently 17 but at the same time, it is a precedent and they are not sure. I told them I am subscribed to all precedents lol! Anyway, they said they would do is e-mail the DOS and ask them what to do. As soon as they have an answer, or if your daughter's fingerprint clearance comes (whichever of the two happens first), they would let me go and do the provisional filing. I will keep you posted."

I800A Supplement letter

They sent us the official letter saying our fingerprint appointyment letter is coming. Supplements were received.

Makes you wonder why they e-mail you right away and then a week later they tell you again in the mail.

Please pray the appointment letter comes soon. Hope has a job now and does not want this to interfere with her schedule. :o) Kids!

Maybe the FP official request will come Monday?!

(((HUGS))) to our precious prayer warriors! and wonderful financial contributors!
God Bless you all!

my friend/client SP

This is SP. She is our 2nd client in our group home. I know this blog is about adoption and those who have DS. But I just had to share about SP. SP does have a 27 yr old niece with DS!!

SP has a disability too, mental illness and she is developmentally delayed. SP thinks she is a teenager! :o) One day she was telling me about her new favorite movie. She LOVES movies so she has a new favorite all the time!! But this day it was "Miss Congeniality" SP informed me that she was going to be Miss America!! To which I replied "SP do you know how old we are??" and she said "I don't care!!" Now I am ROTFL!!! I told her "We are grandmas!!"

When my daughters are dating or getting married, SP falls in love with their boyfriend/husbands. She likes them too!

SP has a great sense of humor and we love laughing with her! It wasn't always this way though. Her sister who provided the most care for her was killed by a drunk driver. SP mourned her loss for many years.

SP has lived with us 22 years. She is part of our family. Sometimes she's just as ornery as Tom and I, but then I guess if I had to put up with me, I might be ornery too.

You can see in the top photo our Shiloh Shepherd Snow likes SP alot! These photos were taken at our lake property where we vacation. SP loves to go there!

I hope and pray that SP has many many more years with us. She is a gift from God. She has blessed our lives in so many ways. I thank God for her.

She is very excited to be "Auntie SP" to five special little boys from Bulgaria!

Moving Foreward

We found out today that the Provisional Acceptance letters are good and we are moving foreward!

We still have to do Hope's fingerprints and wait for the Supplement to be processed for our I800A. But our worker will foreward it on when they are done. No new Acceptance forms needed.

This way if there was a miracle we could go at anytime Bulgaria has everything done. But we are in a long line of families so I don't think it is possible. We know that Bulgaria shuts down the entire month of July. So since Hope will be 18 after June 24th, we need to do this, we may go in August?

I had so hoped last year that we'd have them by May!

Provisional acceptance I800

Oh the confusion of it all!! Today should have been joyful! Two Provisional Acceptance forms for our I800 arrived in the mail. But it is not.

Why?? You see they told us to do a Supplement to our I800A first. Before we could get the Provisional Approval. So we did.

But the Supplement including Finger prints have not been completed by us yet? They have to mail us the Finger print letter first.

So are we moving ahead? Or are we sitting still, waiting till the Supplements go through? Tom called our worker. No answer yet.

Documents received at lock box

The supplements to our I800A were received at the TX lock box. Now they need to go to MO. Then they will mail us a finger print appt. As soon as it comes in the mail Tom is going to drive Hope down (75 mile drive) and sit at Immigration until they take her FPs. We are not going to "wait" for the appt. on the letter. We are going to tell them it is URGENT! This photo is Julius again. (and in the photo in the post below) Tom is holding Paul to the left. We wanted them home in June. We thought they would be home by May when we started this last year. I am good at waiting. I just don't like it. I want to kiss those cheeks. I want to hold those boys soon!

I800A supplements mailed- Phew!

This afternoon we mailed the I800A Supplements 1 and 3. With the Home Study addendum and a check for $445.00. OUCH!

Now we wait for them to go to the TX lock box, then we wait for an appointment for Hope's biometric finger prints. Then re-approval. Then we wait for our I800 to also be approved.

I never saw this coming. :o( I have to say I'm still heart broken. I prefer to wait upon the Lord, NOT our government. Does government "work" for us in these situations? I don't think so. We are all being treated like potential criminals. Hope for turning 18, the boys for being from a different country. Are we seriously this protective about immigration of two 3 yr olds who have Down Syndrome? OY!!

Please pray

This is the short version of a very long day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At 7 a.m. I saw that our UPS package could "not" be delivered to Bulgaria? Even though it was there. It has all of our last documents. Tom called UPS, they said the e-mail was a virus!! Not to open and that things were just held up in customs. However, they were scheduled to be delivered 4/4 and they weren't. :o( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At 9 a.m. our USCIS worker called about our I800. It needed the expenses of the adoption broken down more on page 8 and it needed a more broken down list of expenses, like airfare, hotel, passport cost etc. UGH! And then she sprung the big one- Hope turns 18 on June 24th, we must amend the I800A with a Supplement #3 and #1. The cost is another $445.00. With an addendum on our Home Study, plus asking all adults here about their criminal backgrounds.(remember, two adults here are mentally retarded) I cried. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I can't tell you how many times last year I thought that we should have added Hope at age 17 as an adult. But I thought the boys would be home way before she turned 18. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I feel beaten and battered. This will set us back. Bulgaria takes the whole month of July off. I have no clue when the boys come home and this also sets things back for Noah, Moses and Jacob.
